5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
1 Cor 7:24 (NLT)
So, dear brothers and sisters, whatever situation you were in when you became a believer, stay there in your new relationship with God.
When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, were you an auto mechanic? But now are you trying to be a brain surgeon?
I know that sounds kind of crazy or downright stupid.
But that's what we try to do as Christians. Be something we are not.
Yes the Lord has given you a new life in Jesus Christ, but not a new who you are.
God accepted you the way you are, and in His timing and His way He will change your heart, but not who you are.
Take the example of the auto mechanic and the brain surgeon.
God needs auto mechanics as well as brain surgeons. But God chose you and made you the way you are because that is what He likes about you.
God gives everybody certain skills and likes.
And what you had before you were a Christian, God put into you when He created you.
It's like women who dye their hair, get face-lifts; implants, cut and tie here and there to be like and look like somebody they're not.
God was happy with you the way you were, and He chose you that way because He wants you to use those special abilities that He gave you.
So don't try to change to please anyone, because God made you just the way you are.
Just as a baby has to grow to maturity, so do we as Christians.
So don't try to grow-up to fast, and if God created you to be an auto mechanic, don't try to be a brain surgeon?
