with God

John 5:30

"I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

As I was reading this verse this morning, it was like a Mac truck hit me in the face. Or at least God whispering to my heart.
As having the gift of Prophecy, you come to find there is a fine line between judging someone and speaking the word of God.
We so easily think, "they shouldn't be doing that or saying that or acting that way. It's just not right."
But the question is, is it not right in our eye's or God's eye's?
People do things, or dress a certain way, or listen to some type of music, although it's Christian, if we don't like the beat or can't understand what they are saying then it is wrong in our eye's.
But what about what God thinks or says?
Can you really back it up with scripture, or do we twist God's word to do our own bidding.
Now there are certain things we should judge in the church.

  • 1 Cor 5:9-13(NLT) 9 When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. 10 But I wasn't talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or who are greedy or are swindlers or idol worshipers. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. 11 What I meant was that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a Christian yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Don't even eat with such people. 12 It isn't my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your job to judge those inside the church who are sinning in these ways. 13 God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, "You must remove the evil person from among you."

  • So next time you are unhappy with something someone is doing, or saying, or the way they dress. Before you get to upset, seek God's word and find out if you're in His will or judging on your own terms and not God's.
And if you find you are judging on your own terms, seek the Lord's forgiveness and ask Him to change your heart to see others through His eye's and not your own.
