with God

Matt 23:1-4 (NLT)

1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 "The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the Scriptures. 3 So practice and obey whatever they say to you, but don't follow their example. For they don't practice what they teach. 4 They crush you with impossible religious demands and never lift a finger to help ease the burden.

As a teacher these are hard words to swallow, because as a teacher I'm not only to teach with words, but by example.
Doesn't it make you glad that you are not a teacher of God's word?
Now before you answer that, I have news for you, you are a teacher of God's word.
Maybe you don't know the scriptures inside and out (But then neither do I).
You may have a bad memory and can't remember where a particular verse is (My memory is just as bad, if not worse).
Maybe you don't spend as much time in the word as you should.
But you know what? You are a teacher of God's word.
How can I say that?
You are a teacher with your lifestyle.

  • 1 Peter 2:21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

  • John 13:15"For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

  • Col 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

  • You are a living example of Jesus Christ.
And what does the Bible call Jesus in the book of John.

  • John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

  • So, If Jesus is called the word and we are to be like Jesus, then we are walking examples of God's word.

If people are now watching you, what part of the bible are they reading?
Do they see the Love of Jesus Christ, or the judging Pharisees?
