Matt 11:28 (NLT)
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
When you have a problem or things are going tough; who do you run to?
It is so easy to run to a friend or someone of the opposite sex to try and find comfort.
We cry out to our friends about our marriage, relationships, jobs, family, and all the personal things of our lives.
Or if there seems to be somebody interested in us we run to him or her, even if we are married.
When you do, what you are doing is committing adultery with that person.
Adultery is not always a sexual thing, but also pouring out your feelings to someone of the opposite sex other then your spouse.
God says we are to be as one flesh, that doesn't mean just your physical but your emotional as well.
When you pour out your heart to someone else you are now sharing a part of you that God intended for you to share only with your spouse.
"Well, my husband or wife just wont listen to me." You may say.
But Jesus says, "Come to me!"
Don't run to Jesus as a last resort.
He should always be the first one you run too!
