5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week

with God

Josh 24:15

15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. '

I am a very blessed man!
Why do I say that? Because I can say, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

I was thinking about this verse the other day as I was driving home from work. And if you think about it, one of the greatest blessings would be a family that loves and serves the Lord.
I do have that, because both my wife and son are Christians, and we are raising out baby girl to know Jesus.
They both have as well as myself made the decision who they would serve and we all chose to serve the Lord.
It didn't all happen at the same time, but in God's time.

Now I am not bragging, but rather sharing with you what a blessing from the Lord you truly have if your family loves the Lord to.

But what if they don't?
Does it mean that you are not blessed by the Lord?

You truly are blessed by the Lord, just with the fact that you have a family. Even if you are not married you still have a family. And a family is what God intended for us.

But if they are not Christians, I urge you not to become discouraged but trust in the Lord.
Don't shove the Lord down their throat, but rather let them see Jesus in your life.
And also, pray.
"I have been praying" you may say.
Don't stop, and have others pray with you.
Send me an E-mail and I will add your prayer request for your family members to the prayer request page so others can pray with you.

Sometimes we have to ask the Lord to move us out of the way so they can see Jesus.
You see, they need to see the love of Jesus and not our judging them telling them they are going to hell because of their lifestyle.
The simple fact is they are going because they don't have Jesus just like we were.
When we witness, we seem to forget that we are sinners just as they are; the only difference is Jesus in our lives and His forgiveness.

So don't tell people they are going to hell because they are drunks, or drug addicts or living with someone out of marriage, or…
No just tell them what the bible says, and that is they are going to hell because they don't have Jesus.
Remember that after you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, all those other things start to vanish away.
And you have to let the Lord work in their lives, just as He has and still is working in yours.

Remember Jesus said:

  • Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
