Luke 24:1-6 (NLT)
1 But very early on Sunday morning the women came to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 They found that the stone covering the entrance had been rolled aside. 3 So they went in, but they couldn't find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 They were puzzled, trying to think what could have happened to it. Suddenly, two men appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes. 5 The women were terrified and bowed low before them. Then the men asked, "Why are you looking in a tomb for someone who is alive? 6 He isn't here! He has risen from the dead! Don't you remember what he told you back in Galilee,
So many people think that to be rich or famous is the way to go.
But if you go to the pyramids of the rich Pharaohs, what do you find there? Dead bodies.
What about to be like Buddha or Muhammad? Well, they are in their tombs also.
What about the saints? You hear and see of the saints who died a hundred years ago and how their bodies haven't fully decayed yet. People say that it is a miracle and they are someone special. Actually, they are dead too.
But, if you go to the tomb of Jesus what do you find? An empty tomb!
That is where Jesus is different then all the saints, rich people and other so called gods of this world.
Jesus did die, but He also rose from the dead three days later. He even walked on the earth for 40 days afterwards speaking to others, eating with them and loving them just as He always has.
You see Jesus is special in that He truly is the Son of God. Even one of the soldiers who stood by during Jesus' crucifixion and witnessed His death testified to this.
Mark 15:39 So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, "Truly this Man was the Son of God!"
Jesus died for your sins, but that was just half of it, because Jesus also rose from the dead proving once and for all that He is the Son of God.
So who have you been putting your trust in? Someone who's still dead and buried in the grave; or the true Savior who only occupied His tomb for the weekend and now occupies the throne at the right hand of God for all eternity?
