with God

John 15:27

"But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.27 "And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

How many times do you feel like you can't be a witness for the Lord?
Maybe you are afraid that you may say the wrong thing or just won't have the right answer to the questions that are asked of you.

Jesus is telling His disciples and us not to worry about these things.
And why? Because Jesus said that He would send the Helper or Holy Spirit who will do the testifying for us.
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you have the Holy Spirit, and He will testify through you about Jesus.
It's like you are His mouthpiece proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Also Jesus says that we will bear witness of Him because we have been with Him.

"I have never walked with Jesus like the disciples did." You may be saying to yourself. "So how can you say I have been with Jesus."?
I can say that because, as a Christian Jesus is with you right now at this very moment.
Have you ever thought about that? Right now as you are reading this, Jesus is with you.
Just as He is with me giving me the words for today's devotional.
Now once again you cannot physically see Him, just as He is not here physically with me so I could see Him. But He is right there with you, and will speak through you through the Holy Spirit just as the Holy Spirit gives me the devotionals each day.

  • John 17:22-24 (NLT) 22 "I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are-- 23 I in them and you in me, all being perfected into one. Then the world will know that you sent me and will understand that you love them as much as you love me. 24 Father, I want these whom you've given me to be with me, so they can see my glory. You gave me the glory because you loved me even before the world began!

  • I'm not some super-educated person who can just throw out a devotional at my own whim. No, it's the Holy Spirit who gives me these teachings for you and myself also.

So today and everyday after this, start telling others about Jesus, because He is with you and you have the Holy Spirit to testify and give you the answers to those questions.

Plus, because of the simple fact that you don't want others to go to hell, but to join us in heaven with Jesus!
