5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Acts 1:8
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
How many times have you invited someone to come to church with you?
Maybe to many to think about? Are you tired of being rejected every time you ask one of your co-workers or friends to church with you?
I have an answer to this. Stop doing it.
"Wait a minute, have you lost your mind Steve? We are supposed to invite people to church."
That's not what I just read in today's devotional verse.
you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
It doesn't say, "You shall invite people to church in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Yet we put so much effort into getting people into church, like special music and programs that we think that a full church is a good church. It's only good if it's full of believers. If it's full of non-believers, then it's just like any other building in your neighborhood.
So share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them and asked them to pray the sinners prayer with you. After they do, then invite them to church to grow and to be ministered to and to minister to others.
It's not wrong to invite non-believers to church, but just remember that we are to be witnesses in the world, not just in the church.
