with God
Rev 1:10-11
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," and, "What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
This last Sunday, church was awesome, even though I may had gone for the wrong reasons, or didn't have the Lord on my mind when I got there. I know by the time I had left, the Lord had spoken to me and even used me to minister to others.
So how was church for you?
"Uh, I didn't go. That church stuff is not for me, plus there are so many hypocrites in the church I don't want to be there."
Let me say one thing to you, out of love, "Cop Out" it's just an excuse to sleep in on Sunday, or not have to leave the house when you can just watch a service on TV.
Sure there are hypocrites, I know I am far from perfect, but then no one in the church is perfect. So yes, we will make mistakes and maybe even rub you the wrong way sometimes. But there are more people in the church that love the Lord and you, then there are that you don't like.
If you wonder why you struggle so much during the week, it could be because you haven't been to church.
"I know, I know, but why should I go. I accepted the Lord, isn't that enough?"
Yes and no. Yes because you will be in heaven someday. No because you need the Lord to speak to you, and the Lord wants to use you to minister to others.
Notice in today's devotional verses that Jesus wrote to the seven churches. I wonder how many didn't get to hear these letters from Jesus to them, because they weren't there?
You can think of the bible as a big long letter to you written by the Lord. He has things He wants to tell you, but you can't hear them if you are not there.
So this Sunday, break your old tradition of sleeping in and/or watching a service on TV, and get up and go to church. The Lord has been waiting for you to show up, because He wants to tell you so much, and most important that He loves you!
