with God

Mal 1:6

"A son honors his father,
And a servant his master.
If then I am the Father,
Where is My honor?
And if I am a Master,
Where is My reverence?
Says the LORD of hosts
To you priests who despise My name.
Yet you say, 'In what way have we despised Your name?'

I love my dad very much, yet I have not seen him in over 15 years, because right now he is with Jesus and has been for over 15 years.
My dad taught me some very important things in life, and I have much respect for him, and I am so glad that in his later years he turned to Jesus, because the change in his life helped me decide to follow Jesus as well.

But as much as I love my dad, I love my Father even more.

"What's the difference?"

My biological dad is the one who raised me, but my Father is the one who is still raising me.
I don't pray to my dad nor do I talk to him because he is in heaven having a great time being with Jesus. Sure, when I get there I will spend a lot of time talking to my dad and thanking him for helping me make that decision to turn to Jesus.
But I do pray and talk to my Father everyday and all the time.
You see my Father is GOD!

So how much time do you spend talking to your Father?

If then I am the Father,
Where is My honor?

If my dad where still here, and every time I saw him I would ignore him or not let him know what was going on in my life, what kind of a son would a be? Not a very good one.

God is with us all the time; yet how much time do you spend with God, just talking to Him?
Sure He knows all things, but do you think He created you so that you could ignore Him all day or only talk to Him when you are in a jam?
I miss my dad's voice.
Does your Father miss your voice?
God wants to hear you confess your sins, but also He just wants you to talk to Him and share your day and life with Him.
I bet He would love to hear from you, I'm sure there is plenty you can tell Him, and He wants to hear all of it, good and bad.
Give Him the honor He deserves and give Him a call, you do it just by talking to Him right where you are.
Why not make this a normal thing you do throughout the day, everyday.
But also remember to stop and listen as He speaks back to you, that's how a conversation works, even with God!
