5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week

with God

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever."

"If you buy one today we'll thrown in a free?"
"Sure, I'll be there this weekend to help you out."
"Buy on credit today and don't pay anything for a year."

A lot of empty or useless promises that we hear all day long from sales men, on the TV, the radio, read in the papers and magazines and even hear from others.

Don't you ever get tired of hearing them? I know I do.
Don't you want something that is good for you, I mean really good for you, not empty promises to lose 50 lbs in a week or make your teeth whiter if you use this for a month.
I'm talking about an honest person who will tell you no lies, nor will lead you into something that is bad or not good for you, and is free.

Well, we have that right here in today's devotional verse.

The grass withers, the flower fades, This is so true because we have all seen the grass turn brown in the cold months or if it is not watered, and the same is true of flowers. But there is more to this verse, which is the real cool part.
But the word of our God stands forever. No empty lies or promises, just 100% truth, that's what God's word is.
But when I read this, there were two words that stuck out to me and they are our God

So the question is, who or what is your god. Your money or credit cards? Where have they gotten you?
Your job or even your friends, can you rely on them 100% of the time to come through for you? Everyone lets us down at one time or another, everyone but God and His word.

So the rest of this week, stop and look to see who your God or god is, whichever one you chose will determine if you can trust in Him or it 100% of the time.
I personally chose GOD as my God, because he is honest, true and has never lied to me, and He never will.
the word of our God stands forever.
