5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
There are times when we become over confidant in ourselves. We say, "OK God, I can take it from here." Then we end up falling flat on our faces.
We have all done this; so don't feel bad if you have.
It's part of the growing process. Just like when we were younger and thought we knew it all.
But in reality we knew so much less then we thought we even knew.
In proper English terms it mean; "We were too big for our britches."
And we do the same thing with God as we grow.
But God is loving and kind just as our parents were. He will let us go our own way and be there to help us when we mess up.
At that point we realize that His word is true when He says:
John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
So remember this next time you try to make a decision without talking it over with your Father in heaven.
He will listen and He will answer, maybe in not the way you want, but the way that is best for you.
Just like your parents did for you. Or you do for your children even now.
