Luke 12:22-23
22 Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 "Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
Here's a good question. Have you ever worried about your bills or money?
I think we all have at one time or another. But the question is, are you still worrying about your bills or money?
The definition for the word worry is: To feel uneasy or concerned about something; be troubled.
When I read this, one word stood out to me, and it was a word that Jesus used, and that is the word "troubled".
John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
When we worry or are troubled, we are no longer trusting in God, and when you do worry, the devil has you right where he wants you, and that's with your mind off of doing things for the kingdom of God and on the things of this world. Because you spend so much time worrying, you have less and less time to share Jesus with others or minister to others.
Sure, we all have bills we have to pay and food to buy and so on, but if these things or the thought of these things and how you are going to take care of them consume your thoughts, you are constantly troubled. And Jesus said: Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Also by worrying about them, you are now putting your trust in yourself and how you will take care of them, instead of the Father, Who supplies all our needs.
So what do you do? Give them to Jesus. Tell Him your concerns and leave them with Him, and don't go back after them.
Once you do that, then Jesus promised you something better then worrying all the time. He promised Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
I don't know about you, but I choose having a peace all day over worrying all day. How about you?
