with God
Gal 4:6
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"
I love my little babies (son and daughter), who are both less then three years old.
I like to sit there and watch them play as they discover new things and how to do new things all the time.
But sometimes there are things they can't do, like open a big container with a lid on it.
So what do they do? That's right, they bring if over to dad to open for them. But they don't just bring it over and say open this for me dad, because they can't talk yet. So instead they will take my hand and place it on top of the lid of the container and just stare at it and me. This is their way of communicating that they can't do something and they need my help.
What about you? Are there things in your life that you have tried and tried to fix, but have gotten frustrated because you just can't seem to do it?
Maybe your marriage is falling apart.
Or maybe things at your job get worse and worse.
Maybe your kids seem to be rebellious or down right disobedient.
Maybe your parents treat you wrongfully.
Maybe your finances are getting worse and worse, no matter how hard you work and how much you tithe.
Think about some of the things going on in your life right now that you can't seem to fix.
Now take God's hand and place it on these things and ask Him to fix them because you just can't.
How do you do that since you can't physically touch God's hand?
Just pray to Him and say that you are placing His hand upon this or these things. Tell God you have tried and tried to fix them but you can't and ask Him if He will.
With my kids, there are some things I know they can do and I encourage them to do them and not depend upon dad to do it all the time. But then there are things they just can't do and I know it, during those times I am happy that they bring it to me and I will always help them.
God knows there are things you can do because you know how to, but then there are things He knows you can't do. How much joy the Lord must get when we run to Him and ask His help instead of someone else, crying out, "Abba, Father!"
