with God

1 Cor 7:30 (NLT)

Happiness or sadness or wealth should not keep anyone from doing God's work.

"When I win the Lotto I will do so much for the Lord."

Have you ever heard anyone say that?

"Things are so tough right now, I have family problems, problems at work. As soon as they're over then I'll do what God wants me to do."

This may be another saying you have heard.

God can use you no matter what your circumstances are.

  • Matt 8:20 (NLT) But Jesus said, "Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but I, the Son of Man, have no home of my own, not even a place to lay my head."

  • What if Jesus said that He would wait until his dad's carpentry business got going real good and then use that money to start His ministry?
Or He could have said that when He would build a big house, then he will have room to help those in need.

But Jesus didn't say these things. In fact Jesus said this about money and worldly possessions:

  • Luke 12:21 (NLT) "Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God."

  • So don't wait till your happy enough, or rich enough, or even so broken hearted that you do because you think God will then help you.
Just do because the lord wants you to. This is something the Lord has taught me even this very day as I am writing this.
No matter what's going on, we should not allow it to make us stop doing the Lords work.

Think of your job in the world. Just because things are going tough at home or you have little money, or you're just upset about something. Does that make you not go to work?
The answer is no. No matter what is going on, you still go to work.
So why do we think because things are going bad that we should stop doing the Lord's work?
After all, isn't He a better boss to work for anyway?
