Ezek 11:12

"And you shall know that I am the LORD; for you have not walked in My statutes nor executed My judgments, but have done according to the customs of the Gentiles which are all around you." ' "

So many times we want our church to be like the world.
Now we don't want the sins of the world, but we are looking for the church to take on the appearance of the world.
We want electric guitars, drums, keyboards, a bass and anything else we can think of in our worship.
We want to allow tattoos to be our witness, skimpy dresses, short shorts, and earrings in the nose, lips, and anywhere else people want to put them.
We want the finest seats, beautiful pictures, brand new everything.
We want computers, and slide shows, and power point presentations.
We want videos, tapes, DVD's of every service.
We want fine cars in the parking lot, even if we live half a block away we will drive there.

for you have not walked in My statutes nor executed My judgments, but have done according to the customs of the Gentiles which are all around you

Think about the days of Jesus, none of these things were around, and even further back in the Old Testament, none were around then either.

God is not looking for any of these things, which are things of the world for worshipping Him, nor for teaching His word.
Now some do have their place, like in the worship, instruments help, but are not required, and in the teaching, power point presentations are just tools, but once again not required.
Maybe it's time to stop all of this and go back to the basic.
There is a song written called "More then a Song" and was written because the church decided to stop all this fancy stuff, set aside their musical instruments and get back to the heart of worship.
I wonder what would happen if all the churches just stashed away their music equipment, with people worshiping from their hearts instead of their ears. Also putting away the computers, and projectors for a month and just taught from the bible. I suppose people would actually have to bring their bibles and open them instead of depending upon the slides?
I suppose if we did then: And you shall know that I am the LORD
