Jer 18:12
And they said, "That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart."
"I did it my way" and old song from way back when, but it still seems to be the theme of today.
Everyone thinks that his or her way is the best way. They also think, "What's the big deal, I'm not hurting anyone?"
That's what those who publish pornography think, but how many women and families are they ruining because of their publications?
But even parents think the same way about raising their children. They feel if their child is not in jail then they are doing a good job.
Maybe they are not in jail, but where are they headed for when they die?
"I need to check out the milk before I buy the cow" That's how many think about a relationship and if they are thinking of getting married they want to make sure they are compatible with that person in bed first.
So many different ways that the world thinks, and we even as Christians take on this mentality. How so? By not checking out the word of God or being obedient to God's word.
So many Christians are currently having premarital sex and they feel it's ok because they will someday get married. But this is totally against God's word for believers.
How many go to church only when they feel like it, maybe skipping weeks or months in between the times they do go?
It's their own way of thinking, but it's not what the bible teaches.
How about tithing? We get all upset when someone talks about it, but the bible teaches it throughout the Old and New Testament.
Are we in a "Beyond the New Testament" age where we don't have to listen to God anymore?
And they said, "That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart."
This was written over three thousand years ago, but how much is it still true today?
