5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
2 Peter 3:3-4 (NLT)
3 First, I want to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. 4 This will be their argument: "Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created."
Jesus is coming back soon. How many times have we all heard this? Hundreds if not thousands of times. But the question is, do you really believe it, after all it has been two thousand years and things are so bad on this earth, why hasn't Jesus returned yet?
Are you starting to doubt His return?
Or have you just started to be complacent and relaxed here on this earth, so much that you look more like you would rather be here, then go to heaven?
When you start thinking like this and getting comfortable in this world, then you are believing the lies of the devil. After all, he doesn't want you to be excited about going to heaven, he wants you comfortable right here, with him!
So how do we know if we are getting comfortable here instead of looking forward to heaven?
Matt 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Think of it this way, you are planning a vacation months in advance. Until you actually go on vacation, you will see and buy things in the store that you want to have with you on vacation.
You will tell everyone about the vacation you are about to take.
As the time gets closer, your thoughts are less on your work, and more on the vacation you are about to take.
Here on this earth, we are going to leave here very soon, but until then what are you investing in, things on this earth that will soon rot and decay away,
Matt 6:19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
or things in heaven.
Matt 6:20 "but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
All you need to do is look at your checkbook, it will tell you where your heart really is by what you spend your money and even your time on.
2 Peter 3:10 (NLT) But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be exposed to judgment.
Jesus really is coming back very, very soon.
Are you ready?
