with God

John 9:6-7

6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

Did you notice something here in today's verses?
As you read through the gospels, we read of Jesus healing different blind men, and with each one Jesus did something different.
"Yea, so what?"
Well notice what this blind man didn't say?
"Hey Jesus, what are you doing? You didn't heal the other guy this way."
No, he just allowed Jesus to do what he wanted to, and then followed Jesus' instructions.
But how many times are we expecting the same experience as someone else?
Someone prays and get immediate results, whereas you pray and it seems to take forever for an answer.
Someone experiences an awesome time with the Lord during worship, but you just sing, not really feeling any different.
Someone is healed and you still carry around your illness.
All sorts of things that others experience but we don't.
So does God love him or her more then us?
No, God loves us all the same.
I am blessed with the ability to sit down, read a verse or two and then write a devotional on that verse in just a few minutes. I have no super powers to do it; it's just a gift from God who speaks through me.
Does that mean that God loves me more then you?
No, He has just given me a different gift then you to use to minister to others.

So don't try to experience what someone else has.
Just let you be you, just as the Lord created you, and allow the Lord to bless you the way He wants to, which is not always the same as it is with someone else.
God just wants to know one thing from you.

  • John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"

  • When you answer, just worship the Lord from your own heart, and don't try to worship the Lord from someone else's heart.

  • John 9:38 Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped Him.
