5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Jer 4:22
"For My people are foolish,
They have not known Me.
They are silly children,
And they have no understanding.
They are wise to do evil,
But to do good they have no knowledge."
Most of you know that I have two little children by reading these devotionals and the studies.
Kids are a great source for learning as we are like our children and God is our parent.
Keeping that in mind, think about how you will clean up a child's room, placing all their toys in the toy box, and setting them up real nicely on the shelf. But then give them five minutes and the room is a wreck with toys everywhere.
So what do you do? When they are done playing, you ask them to pick things up and put them back. Now my daughter is pretty good at doing this, if you help her. But my son on the other hand, looks at you like you asked him to do the impossible and he wont do it.
Now you must understand that my daughter is only a little over two years old, and my son a year old, so you really can't expect to much from them at that age.
But what about when they grow up and are teenagers, should they be disobedient and not listen to their parents and even destroy the things we give them. No way.
But what about us?
"For My people are foolish,
They have not known Me.
They are silly children,
And they have no understanding.
They are wise to do evil,
But to do good they have no knowledge."
We are so good at messing things up, but when the Lord asks us to clean things up, when get upset with Him.
"You want me to do what?"
"You want me to give up what"
"I should stop seeing who, why?"
"I should give this to him or her, but it's mine, mine, mine?"
Any of these things sound familiar to you? Maybe it's time to stop being disobedient to our heavenly Father and start listening to His instructions.
Prov 4:1-2 1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father,
And give attention to know understanding;
2 For I give you good doctrine:
Do not forsake my law.
How happy are we when our children are obedient to us.
How happy is the Father when we are obedient to Him.
You would never ask your child to do something wrong or bad.
So stop thinking that God is asking you to do something wrong or bad and just do it.
John 8:29 "And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him."
We should all be able to say that for I always do those things that please Him.
