Jer 5:31

The prophets prophesy falsely,
And the priests rule by their own power;
And My people love to have it so.
But what will you do in the end?


"God told me to tell you that ____________ and is He ever mad at you."
"Gay priests, it's ok with God."
"God says you need to give to this ministry by 3:00PM on Friday or it will shut down"
"It's ok that you are living together, because you are married in God's eyes."

Some pretty scary thing you just read, aren't they? But the sad part is that they are actual statements that people have said to others The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; and even worse is that so many believe them And My people love to have it so.

If God has a word for you that someone is telling you and you are quick to listen and be obedient to what they say, but don't check it out in scripture, then you are walking on shaky, unstable ground.
First off, God will not tell you to do something that is contrary to His word.
Second if God has something to say to you, why doesn't He tell you Himself? Has God misplaced you?
Oh-no, I can't find so and so, if you see then tell them _______.
Sound ridicules doesn't it.

If you want to hear from God, then read His word, because He will speak to you through His word, and will not tell you to do anything that is not in His word.

An example would be a couple living together outside of marriage. So what they will do is, take the creation account in Genesis and say that, "Adam and Eve were not married, and God brought us together just like he did with them, so it's ok with God."

This type of thinking is from the pit of hell. God instituted the marriage, and notice the first recorded miracle of Jesus (turning water into wine) was performed at a wedding feast. Jesus was there because He knew that God instituted the marriage. Jesus also said this to the woman at the well.

    • 17 "I don't have a husband," the woman replied.
    Jesus said, "You're right! You don't have a husband--18 for you have had five husbands, and you aren't even married to the man you're living with now."

    Don't allow any man or woman twist scripture around to feed their own lusts.
    We shouldn't do the same for ourselves either.

    But what will you do in the end?
