Matt 7:11

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Here is a thought, what if when your child grew up, he or she started smoking or drinking?
Would you stop loving him or her?
What if they got in a fight and were thrown in jail?
Would you love them less?
What if they got married and then divorced then re-married?
Would you have nothing to do with them?
The answer to all these questions and any other is that we would always love our children, no matter what they do.
We may not like what they are doing, but we never stop being their parents and loving them.
Now read today's devotional verse again.

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

If we, being sinful people can love our children, how much more does God love us!
He may not like what we are doing and allow us to pay the consequence of what we do, but He NEVER stops loving us.

So next time you mess up and think that God wants nothing to do with you, think if your child were to do the same thing and how you would forgive him or her and still love them.
Then remember that God's love is far greater then ours, and with that greater love, He will never stop loving you!

  • Matt 7:7-8 7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

  • Ask for God's forgiveness and return to Him today, because He hasn't stopped loving you!

  • Luke 15:20 "And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

  • If we, being sinful people can love our children, how much more does God love us!
