with God

Isaiah 10:15

Shall the ax boast itself against him who chops with it?
Or shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it?
As if a rod could wield itself against those who lift it up,
Or as if a staff could lift up, as if it were not wood!

You know when things are going good; we tend to spend less time with the Lord. We start forgetting that the Lord is always with us through the good times, as well as the bad.
As we forget about the Lord, we start doing things on our own thinking we have everything covered.
We tend to not ask counsel from the Lord also, thinking that we know what we are doing.
But when we go along in life forgetting about the Lord, eventually we will fall, and when we do, we are quick to call out to God for help.
You know, I don't think that we would have as many problems if we truly sought the Lord at all times, whether good or bad.

  • Psalms 62:8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
    Pour out your heart before Him;
    God is a refuge for us. Selah

  • Even king David knew this as he wrote this Psalm, notice it say to Trust in Him at all times not just when things are going bad, but in the good times also.

    How would you like it if the only time your children talked to you or spent time with you was when they wanted something, but when they were happy they totally ignored you?
    Isn't that how we treat God sometimes, we only talk to Him or pour our hearts out when things are going bad or when we want something?

    So in the good times, stop boasting like you did something great, but rather boast in the Lord and what He is doing in your life.

    Or shall the saw exalt itself against him who saws with it?
