5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Mark 14:1
After two days it was the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by trickery and put Him to death.
There is a bumper sticker that reads: Jesus is coming back soon, look busy.
I really don't like this, because in order to "look busy", you are not really doing anything, just pretending to.
We all know that Jesus is coming back any day now to take His bride (the church) home. So are we looking busy, by pretending when others are around, but in the privacy of our own homes or around none Christians we are do nothing?
Here in today's devotional verse it was two day before the Passover, and did you notice how the chief priests and scribes were preparing themselves?
And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by trickery and put Him to death.
The Passover was the celebration and remembrance of how God delivered the children of Israel from slavery in Egypt. But in preparation for this those who were to present the Passover lamb were preparing their hearts with trickery and murder against an innocent man, who was Jesus.
So the question is, how are you preparing for Jesus' return?
By seeking to help and minister to others, or by deception?
Romans 16:18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.
