Jude 1:4 (Living)

I say this because some godless teachers have wormed their way in among you, saying that after we become Christians we can do just as we like without fear of God's punishment. The fate of such people was written long ago, for they have turned against our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

"Just accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and you will be fine."
This is a true statement, but a little vague.
We do share Jesus with others, but we tend to overlook one important aspect of accepting Jesus, and that is to tell others to repent of their sins.
We tell people, "just pray this prayer and believe in Jesus and that He died for your sins" , but we do not tell them that Jesus also said to repent or turn from their sins.

  • Matt 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

  • Then we wonder why so many go back to their old lifestyles after going forward in church or praying the sinners prayer.
We as Christians are just as much to blame for this, because we do not tell them the entirety of what Jesus preached.

  • Mark 1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."

  • Jesus not only said to believe in the gospel, which is the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, but also to repent.
If people want to pray a prayer, but not turn from their sins, then they really do not want Jesus as Lord of their lives, instead they want to use Him as a "get out of hell for free" card.

Life and death are not a game, so let's stop playing around as Christians, and if we are going to preach the good news of Jesus (The Gospel) then we need to preach it all, including repentance.
