with God

Romans 1:24-25

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For over three weeks, the number one movie has been "The Passion of the Christ". However, this weekend it came in second.
So, what movie did people think was so much better that they would flock to see?
Dawn of the Dead.
This movie is a remake of a cult trilogy about brain eating zombies.
Makes you wonder if people are really hungry for the truth, or if they just want to see blood and gore?
When I read things like this, it tells us why people do not come to church, or even more so, to Jesus, because they are to into what the world is offering instead of the message of the cross.
Today's devotional verses sure do fit right in with all of this.

God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie

The world wants entertainment and they call blood and gore entertainment (in the lusts of their hearts )

Nevertheless, we should not allow these things to discourage us, but rather we should continue to pray for the lost and share Jesus with them.

  • Luke 15:4-7 4 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 "And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 "And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' 7 "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

  • Maybe out of every hundred who went to see the Passion, ninety-nine of them are now going to see Dawn of the Dead. However, there is that one out of every hundred that will no longer go back to that way of life.

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents.

So, instead of getting discouraged, let's rejoice with all of heaven over those who have been, and will be saved!
