Prov 4:19

The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.

The world has all sorts of terms for sins that try to lessen the blow of what they really are, sin!

They call alcoholism a disease.
They say that if you are gay or a homosexual that it is just a lifestyle.
They call abortion (which is murder) a choice.
They call pornography freedom of speech.

We could go on and on, but the truth is: The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.

The world wonders why it has so many problems especially here in the USA.
The answer is: The way of the wicked is like darkness;

They cannot see that what they are sugar coating to give people what they call freedom, is really causing people to become slaves to sin.

  • Romans 6:16 (NLT) Don't you realize that whatever you choose to obey becomes your master? You can choose sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God and receive his approval.

  • These next verses are for both the believer and unbeliever.

  • Romans 6:17-18 (NLT) 17 Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you have obeyed with all your heart the new teaching God has given you. 18 Now you are free from sin, your old master, and you have become slaves to your new master, righteousness.

  • If you are a believer then know that according to God's word, you no longer have to be a slave to that sin.
    If you are not a believer, know that according to God's word that you can be set free from that sin by turning your life over to Jesus Christ.

    So, are you walking in darkness and keep stumbling because you choose to obey sin, or are you walking in the light because you have given your life to the Lord?

  • John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

  • If you were lost in the woods at night, who would you follow, someone with a flashlight who knew the way out, or someone with no flashlight and did not know the way out.

  • John 14:6a Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.

  • John 8:12a Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world.

  • So, whom are you going to follow?
