Psalms 128:1-2

1 Blessed is every one who fears the LORD,
Who walks in His ways.
2 When you eat the labor of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

"If I only won the Lotto, I could do so much for the Lord."

How many of you have thought, or said or heard others say this?
Now how many of you have read today's devotional verses before? Read them again and think about the saying we just read.

Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways.
When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

Those who desire to play the Lotto are not seeking pleasure according to scripture.
When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy,

"Yea, but I worked for the money to play the Lotto, so it's the same thing."

Not true at all, when you play the Lotto you desire to not work and get gains by using what the Lord has blessed you with.
Here are few Proverbs about lazy men, you know those who do not want to work, but have it all anyway.

  • Prov 13:4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing;
But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

  • Prov 26:16 16 The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes
Than seven men who can answer sensibly.

  • Those who condone the Lotto, and think they will use the money to serve the Lord, are only wise in their own eyes.
So, if you really want to do much for the Lord, then heed verse one.

Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways.

The Lotto is not God's way!
