5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week

with God

Isaiah 55:11

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

There are a few things that I like that you do not mess with; the kind of coffee I drink (Maxwell House Columbian Supreme), the cream for my coffee (Cinnamon Hazelnut), and the bread I eat (Butter top wheat). I am not too fussy, but these are just a few things that I am set on enjoying.
But these are my preferences and my not be yours, which is ok, because we all have our own preferences.
Also Valentines day was here about a week ago, and you will never guess what I got my wife. No, not candy or flowers or a card, but a study bible.
My wife mentioned that she wanted a certain version of a study bible to help her study the bible. If you know me, I use the NKJV of the bible to study with and what she requested was not the NKJV. But just like the food I mentioned, we all have our preferences and if another version will help her study the bible better, who am I to argue.
What will happen with this study bible for my wife is today's devotional verse.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Also note that candy is eaten up and forgotten, and flowers die, but God's word will never die. What better way to tell your wife that you love her then by giving her God's word.

  • Eph 5:25-27 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

  • Husbands, your wife may not need a bible, but you can share God's word with her. One way I do is by printing out these devotionals for my wife for her to read each day. Just a suggestion, but find some way of sharing God's word with your wife.
