Eph 6:12

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

"I don't like the way you do that."
"Oh yea, well I don't think it's right the way you do that."
Simple arguments that we all get in to. However, sometimes the arguments are over spiritual things like doctrine, or just plainly not liking what someone is saying, or how they say it in regards to the bible.
We are always so quick to judge based upon our own likes and dislikes, but the question we should always ask ourselves is, "What does the bible say about it?"
Just because you may not particularly like the way a pastor preaches does not make it wrong if he is teaching God's word correctly.
Personally, I don't care for preachers who scream as they teach; it doesn't mean that they are wrong, just that it's not my preference.
But then there are those who will take God's word and totally use it out of context or even say something that the bible does not teach at all.
For me, I can't stand this and will challenge anyone who does, and when I do it will be with God's word, not my own feeling of what it should be.
The reason it's so important to use God's word in this way is because of today's devotional verse.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

We are not wrestling against the person in a sense, but rather we are wrestling with the one who is feeding his lies into this person's head, and that person is satan himself.
But one other note of caution when you use God's word to battle sin, satan also knows God's word and will try to use it against you, or he will twist it to make you think that something is right when it's actually not. That's why it's important to know and study God's word, then when it is used incorrectly you will know it right away and through the power of the Holy Spirit will know the correct interpretation of scripture.

  • 1 Cor 2:14-16 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
