Matt 24:24-25
24 "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 "See, I have told you beforehand.
Don't play in the street because you may get hit by a car.
Don't put that fork in the light socket because you can get shocked and die.
Don't play on the railing because you can fall and hurt yourself.
Don't drive so fast because you may cause an accident.
These are things and many others that we have heard from our parents over the years.
Also growing up we had our friends who would tell us the opposite.
They would tell us that it is ok to play in the street and so on.
So, now that you are older which one was right, your parents or your friends?
We know our parents were because we tell our children the same thing.
God told us throughout the bible to be careful of false prophets and false teachers.
However, these false prophets and teachers come in and say that they are right and that God's word is incomplete, or that it is missing things, or was written wrong. Therefore, they will have a companion book to go along with the bible or they will re-interpret the bible, changing things around to suit their purpose, which is usually to fleece the flock of God or bring them down another path to heaven.
When you hear someone say such a thing, run like crazy and get as far away from them as you can.
I have said it before and I will say keep on saying it. Check everything out against the bible, including all of the teachings here on this website as well as the daily devotionals.
Make sure everything you read, and hear are from God, if it is not, then toss it out.
Also, let me know when something is incorrect according to the bible. Your opinion means nothing to me, but God's word means everything to me.
So should be our attitude when it comes to those teaching God's word. Their opinion means nothing, but God's word means everything!
