2 Chron 30:10-11

10 So the runners passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun; but they laughed at them and mocked them. 11 Nevertheless some from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

Do you sometimes wonder if you are doing any good for the Kingdom of God?
Maybe you have shared Jesus with others and have told others how the Lord has changed your life. Upon doing so, so many of them just laughed, and made fun of you.
You have been getting so tired of this that you are ready to give up witnessing.
If this has been you, read today's devotional, verses again.

So the runners passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun; but they laughed at them and mocked them.

If you read through II Chronicles you will read of all these kings who were bad kings and did not follow the Lord. Because of this, the people didn't follow the Lord either. Then Hezekiah was made king, and he repaired the temple. Today's verses tell of how Hezekiah wanted the people to keep the Passover. Therefore, Hezekiah sent out messengers.

  • 2 Chron 30:1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the LORD God of Israel.

  • What we read in today's verses was the response of the people, but not all of them.

Nevertheless some from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

People from the beginning have been telling others about God and His love for His creation, and so many throughout time have rejected the message and mocked the messengers. But even though so many have rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ, not everyone has. I did for many years, but then I finally listened. You also rejected the message for many years, but your heart changed and you listened. What if the person who shared Jesus with you and prayed the sinners prayer with you had said, "I give up, no one is listening so I'm not going to share Jesus with anyone else" You would still be in your sins and searching for the truth.
Just as that person did not give up, do not let the rejection cause you to give up, because there are those who are ready to listen, but you have to go to them.

  • Romans 10:14-17
  • 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!"
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
