Romans 1:24-25
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Super Bowl Sunday 2004. Usually when you think of the Super Bowl, you think of two great football teams playing their hearts out to prove that they are the best of the best for that year.
This year as we look back on the Super Bowl, we do not think about that, but rather the halftime show.
Personally, I did not watch the game, and you know what, even the news didn't announce who won or what the score was. Instead, they focused on the halftime show and what had happened during the show.
If you missed it, like I did (thank the Lord) what happened is that one performer ripped of part of a female performers costumer exposing one of her breast to millions of viewers including little children.
The FCC, the TV stations and everyone appeared to be appalled over such a display on TV.
When I hear about this, I have to wonder if they watch the other shows that they allow on TV.
Even if you get rid of these shows, what about the commercials that they play?
We only get one channel where we live and do not have cable TV. But just the one channel is enough to see how immoral the world has become.
Moms and dads around the world were appalled with what they saw and what their children were exposed to. But if you go to their house any other day or night, what are they watching and allowing their children to watch.
You as a Christian should also have been appalled at what you saw, but what other shows to do watch or allow your children to watch that are just as bad, if not worse? What movies are you renting and watching after the children go to bed?
We believe the lies of the ratings system thinking if it has PG13 then my little child should not watch it, or if it has an R rating then my child under 17 should not watch it, but I can because I'm over 17 and a adult.
Show me in the bible where it says if you are over 17 you can watch nudity, sexual explicit content, listen to profanity and watch people being murdered as entertainment.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie,
Don't tell others how appalled you were over the halftime show, then turn around and tell them about that R rated movie you just saw the other night. We all know better then that.
Jer 42:21 And today I have told you exactly what he said, but you will not obey the LORD your God any better now than you have in the past.
May we not live this verse!
