Psalms 51:12-13

12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.

Have you ever gone through a sinful time and wonder why God would allow you to?
Verse 13 tells us why this happens sometimes.

Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.

We seem to forget that the Lord forgives us when we confess our sins to Him.

And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

People who are not believers may know that we fall into sin, and at that point, it is up to us to tell them about the love and forgiveness of the Father through Jesus Christ.

Then I will teach transgressors Your ways

And when they realize that that God does forgive, they to will turn to the Lord.

And sinners shall be converted to You.

Now this does not give us an excuse to sin.

  • Romans 6:1-2 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

  • The bumper sticker that says, "I'm not perfect just forgiven" is really a copout because we should strive for perfection.

  • Heb 6:1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

  • So when you sin, do not boast in your sin, but rather boast in the forgiveness that you have in Jesus Christ, and let others know that they to can experience this same forgiveness, if they just ask for it!
