Job 21:14-15

14 Yet they say to God, 'Depart from us,
For we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.
15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?
And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?'

The book of Job, what an awesome book that was written at least 5000 years ago (give or take a few hundred years).
However, did you catch the words of Job here in today's devotional verses?

14 Yet they say to God, 'Depart from us,
For we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways.
15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?
And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?'

We sometimes wonder how in our current time with all the proof we have of the bible being the word of God, all the churches and believers witnessing about Jesus Christ, how anyone could reject the truth.
Nevertheless, it is nothing new, as we read in Job's time, the exact same thing was happening in his day.
Nevertheless, were we not all the same way and had the same type of thinking?
We called on God when we needed Him to get us out of a jam, but then the rest of the time we said, Depart from us.

Even when believers would witness to us, we also said or thought, Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him?
And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?

But if you are a believer, you found the truth in God's word and discovered Whom He is and how much prayer really does matter.
I say all of this so you do not give up praying for, and witnessing to your friends, family and even strangers.
Always remember that you also used to live these verses, and that the Lord changed your heart, and He can do the same for others!
