John 18:10-11

10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. 11 So Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?"

"Yea, I think we should do that."
"Let's go for it, it seems like the right thing to do."
"Sure I'll buy that because it's what I need."

Simple thing we say and do in the church and even in our own lives.
However, how much do we pray about things before we jump into them?
The plan for church growth sounds good so we jump right into it, but do we pray about it?
Maybe the Lord has other plans and knows if you do it your own way, you are wasting a lot of time and money.
Maybe the Lord has a better way, and if the Lord has another way, you know it is better.
We do the same thing with our lives, buying homes and cars and making big decisions without asking for guidance from the Lord.
Sure, that car or house deal may sound good right now, but does the Lord have a better car or house for a better price waiting for you?
You wont know unless you ask.
Even marriage we jump into and go by our feelings without even checking with the Lord. Sure, he or she may be a Christian, but are they really the Christian that the Lord wants you to spend the rest of your life with?
Where should I go for lunch today? To small to ask the Lord about? God created the atom, He knows what small is and a restaurant is bigger then an atom.

Big decisions or little ones, share them with the Lord. He wants you to share your whole life with Him, and buy including the Lord in your big and little decisions, that is just what you are doing.
