Job 16:4-5

4 I also could speak as you do, if your soul were in my soul's place.
I could heap up words against you, and shake my head at you;
5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the comfort of my lips would relieve your grief.

Treat others, as you would want them to treat you.
We have all heard this, but how many of us actually do it?
We get in arguments with our spouses, but do you really like being yelled at? If not then you are not treating others (your spouse), as you would want them to treat you.
We look down on others at work, or the store, or where ever we may be, just because he or she messed up. How would do you want to be treated when you mess up?
Jesus hung of the cross; blood flowing from His whipped and beaten body, yet still Jesus treated others, as He wanted to be treated, with love and compassion.

  • Luke 23:34a Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do."

  • In today's devotional verses, this is Job talking to his three friends. These three friends wanted to condemn Job for what had happened to him. Even Job's own wife would not be there with words of comfort.

  • Job 2:9 Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!"

  • Who do you know that is having a bad day, week, or year? If you were in their shoes, how would you want to be treated?

  • Luke 10:37b Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
