New Years Eve, what devotional can I do to help us out today?
How about the slogan we have all heard:

Don't Drink and Drive

Sounds pretty cool doesn't it, but do you really understand what this is saying?

Go ahead and sin but do it safely

It is like having safe sex, how safe can it be if it will send you to hell, no matter how much protection you use!

If you think about it that is exactly what the slogan is saying.
Now we wont get into whether drinking is ok or not, because people know that once you start to drink that most wont stop with just a glass of wine, but will drink until they are feeling good, then totally drunk.
After all, isn't that the way the world celebrates the New Year!
The world wants you to have a good time and party and get drunk, but they just do not want you to hurt someone else.
Go ahead and sin they are saying, just do not hurt someone else while you are doing it.
The only way to truly have a great New Years Eve and a great New Year is not to drink at all. If you do not, then you wont have to worry where you will stay that night, or if you will be thrown in jail for driving drunk, or starting the New Year with a tremendous hangover.
This New Years Eve, while not spend the time in prayer seeking the Lord's will for you life for the New Year.
