1 Tim 6:7-9 (NLT)

7 After all, we didn't bring anything with us when we came into the world, and we certainly cannot carry anything with us when we die. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. 9 But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.

Christmas, what a wonderful time, except for when you ask someone like me what he or she wants for Christmas.
I know I drive my wife and family crazy because they do ask me that question. When they do, I really have to think about it, because I really can't think of anything I really need.
Sure there are things I want, but none of them I really need.
But I guess that's one of the cool things about being a Christian, because if you really think about it, what do you really need that you don't already have?
We have food, clothing, homes, cars, jobs, and a family that loves the Lord. What more could I ever need to be content with life?

8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

So what do you really need? Before you answer that question, remember the first verse in today's devotional.

7 After all, we didn't bring anything with us when we came into the world, and we certainly cannot carry anything with us when we die.

If you think about it, the only things you can take with you to heaven when you die are those you have shared Jesus with and will also be in heaven with you.
Those are the things I look forward to taking with me to heaven.
