2 Chron 6:7-9

7 "Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a temple for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 8 "But the LORD said to my father David, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well in that it was in your heart. 9 'Nevertheless you shall not build the temple, but your son who will come from your body, he shall build the temple for My name.'

If you are like me, then there are probably a lot of things that you would like to do for the Lord. But a lot of times it seems we can't do everything we want because of time, money, jobs, etc.
They may all be good or even great things, but for one reason or another you just cannot do them all.
At times like these we seem to get frustrated and think that we just can't do anything for the Lord. But that's not true, the Lord may have set these things upon your heart, not necessarily for you to do, but rather so you could help someone else do some of these things.
It could be financially, or spiritual support.
It could be someone wants to do it but doesn't know how, but you do and you can train or instruct someone else.
Maybe you could be there for continual prayer for a ministry. So many ways we could help others with the things our hearts would like to do, but just can't.

you did well in that it was in your heart.

So this week, pray and ask the Lord to show you what has been upon your heart, and if you can't do them, then who you could help so that they could do it.
Or maybe you need help with what you want to do, ask the Lord to send you that help.
Lastly, maybe you have no idea what you want to do for the Lord, ask the Lord to reveal what His will is for you and to help you accomplish it for HIS glory!

  • 2 Chron 6:10-11 10 "So the LORD has fulfilled His word which He spoke, and I have filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised; and I have built the temple for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 11 "And there I have put the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD which He made with the children of Israel."
