Titus 3:14
And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful.
Christmas, what a wonderful time. A time when people seem to care for others and want to give to those in need. This is a good thing, but also a bad thing.
"How could giving to those in need be bad?"
It's not a bad thing to want to give during Christmas, the bad thing is that this is the only time that a lot of Christians give or help those in need.
Nowhere in the bible does it say to give to those in need only during Christmas.
When we choose to minister to others only during Christmas, we are just like the world allowing the emotion of the holiday to drive us.
But we as Christians should be seeking to minister to others with the same amount of urgency all the time as we do during Christmas.
We remember Christmas as the time that God gave His only Son for us, so we do the same thing also.
But what about after Christmas, doesn't God give to us all the time? Doesn't God supply all our needs.
Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
What if God said that He would only give us food and clothing and shelter only during Christmas?
I know it sounds ridicules, but isn't that the same thing we are doing!
So after Christmas is done and over, for the next year ask the Lord to show you who has a need that you can minister or give to.
Then love them as God has loved you.
John 3:16a For God so loved the world that He gave
