5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Matt 24:36
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving; I hope you all had a great one.
Mine was very good as I spent it with just my wife and two babies.
But one thing I also enjoyed that day was watching the news, and hearing that our president showed up in Iraq to support our troops. This was a total surprise to everyone. No one in the news knew about it, and most of the president's close people, including security, didn't know about it until after he left and was on the plane returning home.
But there he was on the news with film footage and everything. I really admire him for doing this.
But you know what, it will be the same way for us one day, when our commander in chief, Jesus Christ comes back for us.
He won't come and spend just a few hours with us, but He will take us all home with Him.
Just like the president, this will be totally unexpected as today's devotional verse says. But it will be even more so, because not even the angels in heaven know when this will happen. None of the angels including Gabriel will know. No one in heaven, not Moses or Abraham or David will know.
But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven.
But when He comes we will know, and afterwards the news will be spread world wide of how millions of people just left this earth.
1 Thess 4:16-18 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
What more could we be thankful for?
Maybe one more thing, how about taking someone with you?
What do I mean? Go tell someone about Jesus. Someone, who if Jesus were to come at this very moment wouldn't be going with us.
You still have a little time to tell him or her so they to can meet the Lord in the air as He descends from heaven.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
You have a reason to be thankful, give someone else the same thing to be thankful for.
Therefore comfort one another with these words.
But don't wait to long because of that day and hour no one knows
When it does happen you won't be able to say, "Wait a minute, I have to go tell _______ about You Jesus"
