with God

Luke 4:36

Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, "What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out."

There is definitely power in God's word.
Think of electricity and how it can light a 4-watt night light, or power up an entire city.
God's word causes the mountains to melt like wax.

  • Psalms 97:5
  • The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

Or is gently enough to take care of a tiny little bird.

  • Matt 6:26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

  • We have that same type of power with God's word.

  • Matt 5:14-16 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

  • The question is, is your walk with Jesus just a little spark that no one even sees, or is it a roaring flame where all come for comfort?
There is definitely power in God's word, but are you lighting a little 4-watt bulb with this power or an entire city?
