with God

Psalms 3:1-8

1 LORD, how they have increased who trouble me!
Many are they who rise up against me.
2 Many are they who say of me,
"There is no help for him in God." Selah
3 But You, O LORD, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
4 I cried to the LORD with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah
5 I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me all around.
7 Arise, O LORD;
Save me, O my God!
For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone;
You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD.
Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah

Being a Christian is not always easy. Time after time we are made fun of because we don't follow the ways of the world.
So we cry out to the Lord verses 1 & 2 "LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, "There is no help for him in God.""
Jesus does have an answer for you today.

  • John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

  • If we set our eyes on the world we will have tribulation, but Jesus said that in Him you will have peace.

    Listen to King David, the one who wrote this psalm, he knew what to do.

    I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

    The word, "Selah" is a musical term, which means to "rest" or "pause" right here before going on.
    David cried out to the Lord, and it says that God heard him.
    In the mist of your trials and tribulations. When the whole world seems to be falling in on you, just "Selah".
    Right now, pause from the things you have to do today and spend a little time with the Lord.
    Cry out to Him and He will hear you just as He heard David.
    David was so comforted that he was able to sleep even though his son was after him to kill him.

  • Phil 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
