5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
Matt 26:1-2
1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples, 2 "You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."
Did you catch what Jesus just said? "You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified."
Think about that for a moment. Jesus was just saying that in two days He was going to die.
We always hear or ask the question, what would we do if we found out that we were going to die in two days, or that Jesus was going to come back for us?
Our answer usually is that we would tell everyone about Jesus with that time left.
But if you read the gospels, it doesn't say that Jesus ran around for the last two days telling everyone to repent and to believe.
Why?
Because Jesus did the work that He was sent to do and knew that He did all that He could do. I don't think Jesus was hanging on the cross thinking, "If I only would have told them about this or that", or "if I only had spoken to this person or healed that person." No Jesus completed the work He was sent to do and in two days He would be ready to die for the sins of the world.
I don't know about you, but I have thought and even prayed about when I die. I don't want to get to heaven and think that I could have done more. That's why it's so important to listen and follow the Lord's leading. He has plan for our lives and how He wants to use us. So we must be in prayer and in the word seeking God's will for us. So when we do get to heaven, we know we did all He had planned for us to do.
This is what I don't want to hear in heaven.
Matt 25:41 "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
And this is what I want to hear when I get into heaven.
Matt 25:34 "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Which are you hoping to hear?
