5 Minutes a day / 5 Days a week
with God
James 5:16 (NLT)
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.
I have been meeting with a few of the men from church once a week during lunchtime for a few months now.
During this time we get into the word together as we study God's word and encourage one another to be better husbands, dads and men in the church.
As always, in the beginning it's always a little awkward because you don't really know all the guys so you hold back, but tend to open up more as the weeks and months go on.
Well, last week we decided, through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, to spend one week a month in prayer.
This week was the first time and it was great as we shared things that we all needed prayer for as men, and we prayed for one another, our families and our church.
So why do I tell you all of this?
I am a firm believer in home groups/home bible studies along with the normal Sunday service we all attend.
Maybe you are a part of a home group/bible study. I would encourage you to keep up the good work. But I would also encourage your group to spend time in prayer once in a while
Why?
Because: The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.
I bet your group will start seeing some wonderful results as you spend just an evening in prayer together.
Also when you do, don't forget to continue to pray for those in your group throughout the week.
If you aren't attending a home group/bible study, then you are missing out on those wonderful results.
