with God

Judges 10:13-14

13 "Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods. Therefore I will deliver you no more. 14 "Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress."

I don't know about you, but when I read these verses it bring chills to my body.
To imagine that God would reject someone who rejected Him is something we try not to think about.
But the truth is that it happens everyday as people have rejected God all their lives and when that final moment comes they still reject Him and His Son Jesus.
Once it's over, it's over, and God has to say I will deliver you no more.

But people do not have to hear those words from our creator, all they have to do is repent of their sins and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

But what about us as believers, who are we really dependant on to help us.
Maybe the bank, or our jobs, maybe we look to family or friends. We look at what we have and wonder "if I just sold this or that it would help out."
How long will we cry out to the world and our possessions for help instead of seeking the Lord? How many times have they really helped us?
"Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress."

It's time for us to repent and return to the Lord.

  • Judges 10:15-16 15 And the children of Israel said to the LORD, "We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems best to You; only deliver us this day, we pray." 16 So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the LORD. And His soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel.

  • Faith is putting your eyes on God.
Worry is putting your eyes on the world.
So who or what have you been looking at lately?
