Gal 1:6-10
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
How many times do we do things to please others, thinking it will get them to accept Jesus Christ?
We are to simply tell them the gospel and not try to sugar coat it with worldly things.
We try to give them music to entertain them, clubs to join so they will feel excepted and even food to please their flesh.
Now, it's not that these things are bad if used in the right context, but the main focus should always be on Jesus.
How many times have you read in the bible where big conferences or gatherings were predetermined to get others to Jesus?
I don't recall any myself, all I read is Jesus going to the people, ministering to them and loving them, and the same thing in Acts where the disciples went to the people.
The gatherings occurred after they were Christians, in what we now call home groups, or churches.
Next time a big deal is being planned at your church, think about what Jesus would do.
That is the big thing now WWJD.
Here's a new one for you to think about: WDJD. Which stands for: What Did Jesus Do?
So just share about Jesus, anything you add to it is another gospel!
