with God
Mark 8:5-8
5 He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven." 6 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude. 7 They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them. 8 So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments.
In today's devotional verse, this is one of the cases where Jesus fed a multitude of people with extremely little. In this case it was four thousand that Jesus fed with seven loaves (about the size of a hamburger bun) and a few small fish (about the size of a large sardine).
But did you notice that they first gave Jesus the bread and when they saw what Jesus could do with just seven little loaves, they offered Jesus the fish also.
Sometimes we think that we just have to little to do any good for the kingdom of God. But then we finally decide we can at least give what we have. But if you will notice that even though you gave a little, the Lord can multiply it and use it in a big way.
When we see this then we start scrounging around to find what else we can give to the Lord.
Maybe you haven't seen this yourself.
This week I would encourage you to give, no matter how little it may seem, and ask the Lord to show you how He is using it. Once you see what the Lord does with it, you too will want to give more, because you finally release that you are making a difference with just a little.
They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them. So they ate and were filled,
