with God
Luke 10:1-2
1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
So many times we act like helpless Christians who can't do anything.
We know that apart from Jesus Christ we can do nothing.
John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
But do we use this as an excuse to do nothing?
We pray and ask the Lord to help us, but after we do, do we just sit there twiddling our thumbs wondering why God hasn't done anything yet.
The answer is in the last sentence of today's devotional verse.
Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
If Jesus wants us to pray for laborers to be sent out, then that means the Lord wants to use us. Sure, God can do it all Himself, but he wants to use you and me. Not to gain riches and to prosper here on this earth, but to set up treasures in heaven, and to share the gospel with others.
So have you prayed today that the Lord would send laborers into the harvest?
If so, have you prayed that you would be one of those laborers?
What will your paycheck look like in heaven?
